Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account or sign in, we collect your email address and, optionally, your name. You can sign in with an email/password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google Sign-In — in the last two cases we receive the name and email your Apple or Google account shares with us.

Vehicle information you enter. Make, model, year, mileage, VIN, license plate, color, and, if you choose to add one, a photo of the vehicle (taken with your camera or picked from your photo library).

Maintenance records. Service type, dates, costs, and notes you enter for each vehicle.

Expense records. Amounts, categories, and dates you enter for each vehicle.

Documents. Insurance, registration, and other vehicle documents you choose to upload, along with the expiration dates you set for reminders.

Push notification identifier. If you allow notifications, we store a device push token used only to deliver the maintenance, expense, and document-expiration reminders you schedule inside the app.

Basic technical information. Device type and operating system version, used only for troubleshooting.

We do not collect your precise or approximate location. See the Location section below.

Location

Mileage Tracker does not request Location permission and does not access your device's location, either while the app is in use or in the background. All mileage and trip figures in the app come from the odometer readings and trip data you enter yourself — there is no automatic, GPS-based trip detection in the app today. If we introduce automatic trip detection in the future, it will require your explicit permission and this policy will be updated first.

Camera and Photo Library

With your permission, you can take a photo with your camera or choose one from your photo library to use as a vehicle's picture. That image is uploaded to our servers so it can sync across your devices. The app does not use the camera to scan, read, or extract data from receipts automatically.

Subscriptions and Payment

Mileage Tracker offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions (weekly, monthly, and annual) and a one-time lifetime purchase. Payment is processed entirely by Apple through your App Store account — we never see or store your card details. Subscription price and duration are shown on the purchase screen before you buy. Payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your device's Account Settings.

We use RevenueCat, a subscription-management service, to determine which entitlements are active on your account. RevenueCat receives a device-generated identifier and your purchase/transaction history from Apple's servers on our behalf. We sync your subscription status with our own backend so premium features unlock correctly across your sessions.

Sharing Vehicles

If you invite another Mileage Tracker user to a vehicle, or accept someone else's invitation, that vehicle's information — and the maintenance and expense records tied to it — becomes visible to every user who is part of that shared vehicle, exactly as shown in the Vehicle Sharing screen in the app. You can remove a shared user or leave a shared vehicle at any time.

Third Parties

We share data only with the service providers who help us run the app:

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Data Storage and Retention

Your account and app data (vehicles, maintenance, expenses, documents, and images) are stored on servers we operate, and are retained for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, your account and the data associated with it are permanently deleted within 30 days, except for the limited records we are required to keep for legal or fraud-prevention purposes.

Your Rights and Account Deletion

You can review and edit your account information anytime from Profile > Edit Profile, and export your data as CSV files or a complete JSON backup from Profile > Export Data. You can permanently delete your account and all data associated with it directly in the app, without contacting support: Profile > Danger Zone > Delete Account. You can also request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing us at the address below.

Children's Privacy

Mileage Tracker is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
